And the Fire Burned Bright

Saturday evening’s Campfire Storytelling at the Bernhard Museum was a great fun-filled night of stories and S’mores and was attended by 38 people. Several families made the trek to the Bernhard Museum and nearly all requested that the Placer County Museums host this program again. Museums staff told five stories, ranging from the legend of Rattlesnake Dick, Native American celestial myths, and a Gold Rush tale of a gold stealing mouse.

A few young storytellers stood and told their own tales before the marshmallows were placed on wood skewers and the making of S’mores commenced. This was a great family event and we will definitely plan another campfire program for next summer.
