Join us for our annual Jump Into Summer program, a day of good old-fashioned fun on June 18th at the Bernhard Museum. Stop by between 12:00 and 3:00 to play popular children’s games from over 100 years ago. Sack races, tug of war, egg races, jump rope and more are the order of the day. We also have several authentic turn of the century chores available for children to participate in such as hand washing laundry, Victorian crafts and the ever popular ice cream making. In addition to all the fun outside, both floors of the house will be open for guided tours.
Staff and Docents will be in period attire, guests are welcome dress up too (not required). Bring your camera and be prepared for a day of fun!
Join us at the Bernhard Museum Complex on May 14th at 1:00 p.m. where you can help us sift through soil for artifacts, excavate a small test pit, and work in the lab where artifacts will be catalogued. Tahoe National Forest archaeologist Nolan Smith will lead the excavation. All the historic artifacts recovered will be accessioned into the Placer County Museums’ collection and will be displayed in a future exhibit.
This FREE Community Education program is kid-friendly, so bring the whole family!
